“Love the Ones You Hate—Creating Appealing Flawed Characters”: A Workshop for Independent Writers of Southern California (IWOSC)

Saturday, March 19, 2016: 10:30-1:00 pm, Culver City

I will be reading from Things Unsaid to give a few examples of how flawed characters are developed.  Since this is an informal workshop, I will encourage the other writers to read from their own writing or from some of their favorite authors as well so we can open the discussion about characters we love to hate.  In addition to reading from my own novel, I will read a few passages from Olive Kitteridge (Elizabeth Strout) and Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant (Anne Tyler).
